The Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu Offers Prayers at Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga

The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, visited the holy pilgrimage town of Omkareshwar on Thursday and offered prayers at the revered Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. In the sanctum sanctorum, she participated in a special abhishek and worship ceremony conducted by the temple’s chief priests according to Vedic traditions and sacred chanting.
During the ritual, President Murmu prayed for the welfare, prosperity, peace, and good health of the people of the nation. Her visit added a special spiritual significance to the sacred Jyotirlinga shrine.
Prior to the darshan, the Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangubhai Patel, welcomed the President with a bouquet. Following her visit to Shri Mamleshwar Temple, Collector Shri Rishav Gupta and Superintendent of Police Shri Agam Jain presented her with a commemorative memento. Member of Parliament Shri Gyaneshwar Patil also honored the President by presenting a Narmadeshwar Shivling, a sacred conch, and a photograph of the holy Omkareshwar pilgrimage site.
The occasion was attended by Tribal Affairs Minister Dr. Vijay Shah, MLA Shri Narayan Patel, Indore Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade, IG Shri Anurag Singh, senior administrative officers, and public representatives, making it a significant and memorable event for the region.
