Administration Reviews Major Development Plans for Simhastha 2028 at Omkareshwar

As part of the preparations for the upcoming Simhastha 2028, Khandwa Collector Shri Rishav Gupta, Superintendent of Police Shri Agam Jain, SDM Shri Pankaj Verma, along with other administrative officials, conducted an extensive inspection of major locations in Omkareshwar.
The inspection covered areas from Khedighat to the bus stand, parking zones, ghats, encroachment sites, the under-construction Sukhdev Muni Gate at Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, and the historic Juna Mahal. The officials also visited Mamleshwar Temple via JP Chowk to review the existing arrangements and infrastructure.
Speaking to the media, Collector Rishav Gupta stated that several major development projects are planned to enhance facilities for devotees during Simhastha 2028. These include the construction of eight new ghats, widening of roads for smoother traffic movement, expansion of areas around the temple for easier darshan access, and the construction of two new bridges parallel to the old bridge and suspension bridge.
The administration has directed officials, including the Punasa SDM, Municipal Council CMO, and other staff members, to accelerate the work while maintaining high quality standards. The Collector also assured that families affected by anti-encroachment drives and lacking proper housing would be included in the rehabilitation and relocation process.
